destruction by the infamous pirate Henry Morgan. Followed by Panama’s staple site, the Panama Canal, where you will leisurely admire
the boats and carriers, from the Miraflores Locks. After lunch, join us in Casco Antiguo, a bohemian neighbourhood that is part of
UNESCO word heritage. Dive into the country’s past, through typical small roads and colorful buildings that lead to the Place de France. Discover art deco architecture, visit the cathedral and the Panama Canal Museum. Return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon. Dining venue of your choice.

Day 14: Wednesday January 30th , 2019
Panama City / Trans-isthmus train, Colón, San Lorenzo and Portobelo Spanish ruins

Early in the morning, transfer at Corozal train station for a trip from the canal to the jungle, heading towards Colón, on the Atlantic
coast. Short panoramic tour of the country’s second city and its baroque-style architecture. Then, join us as we venture beyond the
Gatun Locks, much more impressive than those at Miraflores. Next stop: The San Lorenzo castle, an old pirate landmark located at the
river entrance. After our visit, we continue to Costa Ariba, towards Portobelo, discovered by Columbus in 1502. Today, Portobelo is a
quiet small town featuring ruins that are listed in UNESCO’s world heritage list.
Visit the Santiago and San Jeronimo fort ruins, as well as the San Felipe Church, home of Cristo Nazareno, and the Royal Customs
building. Late afternoon, we return towards the capital. Transfer to the hotel in Panama City. Dining menu of your choice.
