WYD Guide 101
3 steps
This pilgrimage is experienced as a group—and so is the preparation.
From the very beginning, pilgrims embark on a communal journey that extends far beyond the trip itself: shared preparation before departure, the pilgrimage experienced together, and a return that carries on the experience.

Follow-up
The WYD experience doesn’t end upon returning home. It continues in the pilgrims’ lives of faith and commitment. Communities are encouraged to prepare for this return in order to support young people as they continue on their journey.
This may include:
-
- group sharing sessions to reflect on the experience
- times of prayer and spiritual reflection
- opportunities for pastoral or apostolic engagement within the community
- activities to maintain connections among pilgrims
- opportunities to share their testimonies to inspire other young people to participate in future World Youth Days
This follow-up helps young people integrate what they have experienced, deepen their faith, and remain active in their local Church.
It is also a time to look ahead to the next World Youth Day and foster a desire to participate.
